It has been reported that eight people escaped death by a whisker when their house, a three-storey building collapsed on them as a result of the heavy down pour today in Ibadan.
The residential building located in Inalende, Mokola, Ibadan Oyo State reportedly collapsed after hours of heavy torrents trapping about eight people inside. But the swift rescue operation of the residents of the community with aids from officials of FRSC save the situation that would have brought a colossal tragedy.
Olanrewaju Sulaimon Abolore, an officer of FRSC who was part of the rescue operation confirmed the incident to newsmen. He disclosed that the rescued victims were already sent to the hospital. When asked what was the cause of the building however, he declared that as FRSC official, he cannot ascertain that but advised government to send the appropriate people to the scene to forestall such occurrences as there are many buildings like that all around. It will be recalled that it was reported two children of the same mother were killed when their house building collapsed on them over the weekend in Ikorodu, Lagos State when the fence of the next building collapsed on their house.
