ORE TRAGEDY: SCORES, BURNT TO DEATH, INCLUDING PREGNANT WOMAN AND CHILDREN

Scores of people have been confirmed to have been burnt to death in the Ore fire breakout including a pregnant woman and children in Ore, Odigbo local government of Ondo State.

The incident reportedly occured along cowboy road in front of optimal filling station, Ore. It was reported that the driver of the tanker filled with PMS, otherwise known as petrol lost the control of the truck and then fell spilling part of the contents. People were said to have swooped on the contents scooping them into different containers when there was reportedly a spark which caused the tanker to explode killing everybody there on the spot.

An eyes witness confirmed that part of the people who were burnt to death was a pregnant woman who came to buy from the fuel, obviously at a cheaper price. Some children were also reportedly part of those who got burnt to death in the raging inferno that resulted from the spark.

The eye witness, who simply identified himself as Cyriacus said "we were inside the Church when we heard the tanker fell".

"Rain was also falling. People were taking the fuel when the fire started after a spark from a phone ".

"Three children died. We have counted over fifteen bodies. A pregnant woman that wanted to buy from the fuel also died. Her money was still with her'.

He claimed they warned the people but they didn't listen.

"Many people rushed to scoop fuel from the tanker despite being warned".

The incident was confirmed by the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya.
