The Troops of the 192 Battalion of the Nigerian Army have again intercepted another truckload of substances suspected to be Indian hemp in Ajilete along Idiroko border, Yewa South Local Government of Ogun State.

This was contained in the statement by Brigadier-General Adegoke Adetuyi, the commander, 9 Brigade Army. According to him, “the first interception on that road was of ammunition that was meant to be used in some parts of the country”, the second interception was the 397 wraps of Indian hemp that was handed over to the NDLEA couple of days ago”.

“And this particular one was an interception of about 5010 wraps of Indian hemp also coming in through the same border”.
He further declared that preliminary investigation “with regards to this particular interception revealed that the substance emanated from Ghana, passing through Togo and Benin Republic, and destined for market in Lagos".

It should be noted that this similar events in quick succession call for strong actions from the relevant authorities as it points to nothing but the proliferation of the Idiroko border of the country. Else, it may result to series of situations that the country will find it difficult to forestall
