The political battle that has engulfed the Rivers State has started to bring its attending effects as it was reported that the Ahoada West Council secretariat was attacked after it became deserted as workers failed to report to work today tuesday 31st October.

It will be recalled that in the midst of the ongoing political battle, there has been an unconfirmed report that the state government has suspended all council chairmen in the state.

As a result of this unconfirmed report and to avoid been caught in-between cross fire in the ongoing political battle, Most of the secretariats were deserted by workers.

Meanwhile, taking the opportunity of this situation, some hoodlums have attacked the Ahoada West Council secretariat and carted away palliatives kept at the secretariat.

When the commissioner for communications and information, Joe Johnson, was contacted, he could not confirm the rumors of council dissolution, suspension of the Port Harcourt ring road project, and the rumored suspension of the state chief judge among other circulating reports.

He however promised to get back to newsmen as soon as possible.
