The Abeokuta born Oluwafemi Sodimu needs no introduction. Popularly known as DJ Boombastic, the accomplished disc jockey who cut his teeth as a disc jockey under DJ Tonkey Kay in Ijebu-Ode, transversed across OGBC 1, OGBC 2, Star FM, Rainbow FM and Kennis FM in the course of his career as a disc jockey.

Known as an on air personality and disc jockey, DJ Boombastic has anchored programmes such as Soul Spectrum, Day break beat, Tripping Out, Music Nigeriana, Music Power House. He was also the brain and fingers behind successful and popular p programs like Sunrise Express, Top 10 Countdown, Home Drive, Morning Splash, PM Groove, Body as well as Soul, Old School Sound Express, Midday Show and Saturday Morning Jams.

DJ Boombastic who took his disc jockey career to the international stage in the United Kingdom and Dublin, Ireland in 2009, was also in United Kingdom in 2023 with the likes of famous ID Cabasa and Mr Abiodun Jamiu Ojediran, as he plied his DJ trade internationally.

Recently, DJ Boombastic's
activities as on air personality and DJ can be noticed to be considerably reduced and this is giving his large fan base a deep concern. So, people have been asking and wondering what he is up to. Assuaging this concern of his fans, DJ Boombastic in his own words, said, “I decided to stop working as an on air personality and disc jockey on radio to create room for younger, up and coming disc jockeys”.

However, talking about his present projects, which is targeted at giving the new talents opportunities for promotion and projections, DJ Boombastic said he is working on a record label with his partners signing on music artistes, producing music and creating opportunities for budding music talents so they can shoot into limelight.

The versatile DJ Boombastic whose DJ colleagues and contemporaries such as Lexy Doo, DJ KC First Choice, DJ Douglas, DJ Jossy Lad, Shy Shy Shyllon are based in the United Kingdom,took time out during his 2023 United Kingdom visit to re-connect with his colleagues. Reacting to this reunion, DJ boombastic remarked that Nigeria is blessed with notable DJs.
