The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP 'Tunji Disu has reportedly threatened to arrest the immediate past governor of the state, who is now the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike if he rides Power bike again in the state.

Disu who recently took over from Emeka Nwonyi who was transferred out in circumstances which may be connected with the disturbance during which Governor Sim Fubara was teargassed was said to have issued the statement when Wike used powerbike in his convoy recently. According to the statement, it is only the governor that can use powerbike in his convoy. Since Wike is no more a sitting governor, but a former one, it is wrong for him to use powerbike. The reason the new Rivers CP issued the warning to the FCT minister.
The statement reportedly says:
"As Minister you are not allowed to use Power byke, if you use it again in the State, it will be seized…"

However, when newsmen contact the Rivers State Police command to confirm the statement, the command denied the statement saying it is a fake news.

On a statement released on the verified X account of the Rivers Police Command account, the police writes:
"Please be informed that The Commissioner of Police Rivers State Command, Cp Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc, has not made any comments regarding this issue. Let us refrain from disseminating false information,please.
