Hisbah clamps down on Tiktokers in Kano state

A Shari’a Court in the Kano state, responsible for the enforcement of Shari'a law in Kano state and other parts of the northern Nigeria has ordered the remand of murja kunya known for her controversial social media content.

This happened at her residence in the Tishama Hotoro area at 12:46am on Tuesday morning after weeks of manhunts for her and other five other Tiktokers on the state (Abubakar Ibrahim (G-Fresh), Sadiya Haruna, Ashiru Idris (Maiwushirya), Ummee Shakira and Hassan Makeup)

The hunt for the entertainers comes few months after the Commander-General of the board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa invited all female Tiktokers in Kano to a session, where the board offered to rehabilitate and empower them with businesses and scholarships.

At the meeting, Sheikh Daurawa had admonished all Tiktok and other social media entertainers to desist from posting content that is capable of encouraging immorality in the society.

She is accused of constituting herself into a public nuisance, indecency, and attempt to recruit young girls into prostitution. Consequently, the Court ordered that she be remanded until it reconvene on February 27, 2024.
